New Jersey E-ZPass holders from Burlington County paid nearly $7.7 million in tolls on the New Jersey Turnpike during the most recent fiscal year between June 2006 and May 2007, statistics from the authority show.

1/08/08: ACS Awarded Ten-Year E-ZPass New York Contract
DALLAS, Jan 08, 2008 -- Affiliated Computer Services, Inc. (NYSE: ACS) today announced that it has been awarded the E-ZPass New York Customer Service Center contract with the MTA Bridges and Tunnels, the New York State Thruway Authority, and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. ACS was the incumbent vendor in this procurement.

"Hunkered in her idling SUV outside the tollway's headquarters, Leslie Boudreau frantically sifts through papers that say she owes $4,619 for blowing $179.50 in tolls over the last year.
Pay up in two weeks, the papers say, or owe the tollway $15,739 and eventually lose your driver's license."

10/01/07: Illinois Highway Cheats Owe $80K in Unpaid Tolls,
The former owners of an Illinois taxi cab owe the Illinois Tollway $80,571 for unpaid tolls dating back to 2003, the Chicago Sun Times reported Monday.
According to the report, Andrea Zemankova and her ex-boyfriend, Marcel Medek, wracked up their hefty highway bill by crossing toll plazas without paying 1,114 times, during a two year period when they co-owned the taxi.
